Humanorum: The Central Michigan University Journal on Society is an undergraduate double blind-reviewed research journal sponsored by the College of Humanities, Social and Behavioral Sciences at CMU.  The journal is a project of educators and students with the purpose of cultivating increased undergraduate research on topics pertaining to the humanities and social sciences. Humanorum’s purpose is to support a broad diversity of topics under that umbrella and works to nurture the educational opportunities of the entire student community.

The mission of Humanorum: The Central Michigan University Journal on Society is to increase interdepartmental knowledge for undergraduate students by publishing scholarly works submitted by students who demonstrate exceptional knowledge on a pertinent societal issue. Originality and creativity in scholarly analysis is paramount to the purpose of Humanorum. Humanorum holds a deep commitment to assuring equal opportunity to all persons, regardless of race, color, religious creed, national origin, physical ability status, age, economic status, gender, sex or sexual orientation. Humanorum is opposed to all forms of discrimination and seeks to establish a tolerant atmosphere in which every individual is accorded respect. Mindful of the importance of First Amendment freedoms, Humanorum reminds its members of their ethical obligations to audience members and encourages members to refrain from disrespectful or derogatory speech. As an organization dedicated to fostering the development of functional leadership skills, Humanorum encourages the participation of individuals from traditionally under-represented groups.
